But this dismissal feels like more than just footballing reasons.
In his final interview, Amorim made a statement that quietly exposed a deeper issue:
“I am the manager of Manchester United, not just a head coach.”
On the surface, it sounded simple. But within modern football structures, it was a powerful message. Amorim wasn’t just talking about tactics or training sessions — he was talking about authority, responsibility, and identity.
