Real Tamale United (RTU) has sparked public discussion after reusing tickets from the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season for their MTN FA Cup Round of 32 fixture against Yapei United.
On 28th November 2021, RTU faced AshantiGold SC in a Ghana Premier League Matchday 5 encounter at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, where the Pride of the North secured a 2–0 victory.
The tickets printed for that league fixture were the same ones used on 31st December 2025 for RTU’s MTN FA Cup match against Yapei United at the same venue.
The tickets were sold at the original price of GHS 10, unchanged from the 2021 fixture. This development did not go unnoticed, as many supporters raised concerns about why tickets from a league match played four years ago were being reused for a major FA Cup encounter.
The situation has triggered questions among fans and observers regarding the club’s current financial position, with some wondering whether RTU is financially constrained and unable to print new match tickets.
Others have also queried whether the club’s management received the necessary allocation or approval to produce fresh tickets for the fixture. This unusual occurrence has fueled widespread debate within the RTU fanbase and the wider football community.
More details are expected to emerge in the coming days from the camp of Real Tamale United, as supporters await official clarification from the management of the Pride of the North.
