One of the veteran actor who double as an artist and a broadcaster or a radio personality from Northern Ghana, Umar Janda has made a shocking comments about the current state of the Northern Ghana Music Industry.
According to the star on a recent interview on Savelugu based Radio Station, Might Fm 90.5Mhz with the Legendary Bitter Flesh of Kaya as a host, Umar Janda said that, Northern Music industry is dying off slowly instead of growing as many thought or wished.
Many have celebrated stars like Fancy Gadam and Maccasio for winning amazing honours the originators couldn’t win, hipping praises on them and therefore raising the bars of the Industry to a level no any other musician has ever taken it to.
Key players have seen the Industry growing very fast to a level it has never grown to.
According to Umar Janda, it funnies him when lame thinkers seat and say this industry is growing.
According to his facts, only 2 artiste are making money from this industry of 1000 artiste, and only these 2 are making hits as well.
He added “during our time, Sherif Ghale was hitting, Ahmed Adam was hitting, Mama Rams was hitting, Sherifatu Issah was hitting etc, you could count till infinity”.
He added that no Presenter or Industry player can manage an industry of this kind.
