Progressive Welfare Foundation, a UK-based organization that has been operating for over a year now, has provided 50 desks to Gbulahigu AME Primary School in the Tolon District. This comes after Gifted Tima, a poet who also works as a teacher at the school, posted on her Facebook page about the school’s lack of furniture, weakening social separation to prevent covid infection.
Progressive Welfare Foundation decided to aid a few days after her update and has now sent 50 desks to the primary school, as promised.
Mr Abdallah Mbielayim, the Assistant Headmaster of Gbulahigu AME Primary School, received the donations and expressed gratitude to Progressive Welfare Foundation for taking them into consideration. Mr Abdallah urged other NGO’s, cooperating companies, and stakeholders to follow Progressive Welfare Foundation’s lead, citing a lack of computer lab, teaching and learning materials, lack of one unit block, and adequate furniture as issues that the school still faces.
Gifted Tima expresses her gratitude to Progressive Welfare Foundation and adds her voice to Mr Abdallah plea, urging more hands to come to their aid.
Dr. Awal Fuseini, the president and CEO of Progressive Welfare Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to assist and promised to do more for community and country in the future.
