Iddrisu Mohammed Rafik, popularly known as Grandpapa, has found himself in the middle of a heated controversy after 19 young men from Tamale and its surroundings accused him of fraud. According to these young men, Grandpapa had announced months ago on Facebook and TikTok that he had life-changing opportunities for aspiring content creators — including developing creative content with them, monetizing their Facebook and YouTube accounts, and featuring them in his upcoming movie.

As part of the deal, Grandpapa allegedly promised to provide accommodation and feeding, while each participant was required to pay ₵300 — or ₵500 for two persons — which they all reportedly did. However, the victims told HYPE MEDIA GH that Grandpapa only used some of them to shoot two of his personal videos before abandoning them for nearly a year.

Frustrated and disappointed, the young men voiced their anger on HYPE TV PODCAST, declaring that they no longer wanted any of the promised opportunities — only a full refund of their money. Watch their interview on HYPE TV PodCast below,
