In a significant step forward for electronics retail in Northern Ghana, Electroland Ghana Limited, the leading distributor of electronic products in the country, has opened its second branch in Tamale on September 26, 2024, just three years after launching its first outlet in the city. The grand opening ceremony was attended by a prestigious lineup of dignitaries, marking the event as a milestone not only for the company but for the Tamale community as well.
The ceremony, expertly organized by Carlos Entertainment, saw representation from the Overlord of Dagbon, along with a host of key personalities including Gukpe Naa, Nyab Wurshe Naa Adam Lansah, and government officials such as Amadu Mustapha, the CEO of Mufti Enterprise, and Mr. Jonathan Moorcaar, General Manager of the newly opened Electroland Tamale branch.
In his opening remarks, Jonathan Moorcaar expressed his gratitude to the community for their support, stating, “We are committed to providing great and reliable service to Tamale and its surroundings. Our goal is to make Tamale a hub for high-quality electronics, ensuring that customers no longer need to travel to Accra for their needs.”
Representing the Tamale Mayor, Amadu Mustapha echoed the importance of this expansion for the local economy, stating, “This establishment provides significant development and employment opportunities for the people of Tamale. I urge everyone to patronize them, as there’s no longer a need to go to Accra for electronics.”
The local traditional leader, Nyab Wurshe Naa Adam Lansah, also lauded the development, emphasizing the impact on job creation. “This is great news for the people of Gukpɛɣu. Electroland has already employed many of our youth, and we are happy to see more opportunities arise. As a community, we urge everyone to take advantage of their loan programs, which allow customers to purchase products on credit and pay within a year without interest.”
Hajia Adisa Ibrahim, Marketing Director for Midea, shared her excitement over the company’s reception in Tamale. “The fact that we are opening our second branch in this city speaks volumes about how Tamale has embraced us. In a speech directed at the youth, Mr. Abdul Somed, Taskforce Director, emphasized the need for discipline around the new facility. “I urge the youth, squatters, and vendors to avoid activities that may drive companies like this away. Let’s maintain order and peace, especially as we approach the elections. Use social media responsibly to promote peace, not division.”
As the day wrapped up, the second Electroland branch, strategically located opposite the Tamale Taxi Round, was officially opened, marking a new era of accessibility and convenience for electronics shoppers in Northern Ghana.
