Northshore Apparel GH. Ltd on Wednesday hosted a high-profile delegation from the United Kingdom’s Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS) Global Strategy Program at its production facility in Savelugu, in a visit that highlighted the growing link between economic transformation and national security in Northern Ghana.

The delegation, led by the Ghana Armed Forces alongside Lt. Gen. Sir George Norton (Retd), Commandant of the RCDS, is currently in Ghana on an international study tour under the theme, “Security, Stability and Prosperity at the Grand Strategic Level.” During the visit, Northshore Apparel engaged the team in a working discussion centered on “Economic Transformation and Job Creation as Instruments for Enhancing National Security.”
According to the company, the selection of Northshore as a case study by both the Ghana Armed Forces and senior UK defense strategists reflects the growing recognition of employment creation and industrial development as powerful tools for peacebuilding and long-term stability.

Speaking on the significance of the engagement, the company emphasized that every opportunity created through manufacturing contributes directly to stronger communities and a more secure society.

Northshore Apparel noted that its operations in Savelugu continue to transform lives through dignified employment, skills training, supplier development, and export-grade manufacturing, especially among the youth in Northern Ghana. The company stressed that sustainable security in the region lies not only in military interventions, but also in economic empowerment, stable incomes, and productive industries.
The company further described its factory floor as evidence that world-class manufacturing can thrive in Ghana while serving as a catalyst for national development. From cutting tables to quality control units, Northshore said its workforce demonstrates daily that job creation and industrialization remain among the most effective pathways toward peace and prosperity.

Northshore Apparel expressed appreciation to the UK High Commission, the Ghana Armed Forces, the Royal College of Defense Studies, and the Ministry of Defense for the confidence reposed in the company. The management also praised its workers, partners, and the Savelugu community for their continued support and contribution to the company’s growth story.
For many observers, the visit further positions Northshore Apparel as one of the leading examples of how private sector investment in Northern Ghana can drive economic inclusion, reduce vulnerabilities, and contribute meaningfully to national security objectives.
