In a night filled with celebration and recognition of outstanding contributors to the tourism industry, Abdul-Latif Alhassan, Executive Producer of Queen of the North Ghana, has been honoured by the Ghana Tourism Authority at their maiden Savannah Regional Tourism Awards.
Mr. Abdul-Latif Alhassan, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Celebrities Charity Development Foundation, was crowned Digital Icon of the Year 2024 for his selfless and innovative contributions to the development of tourism across northern Ghana. His annual events, which include the Queen of the North Ghana TV reality show, the Northern Ghana Entertainment Awards, the Northern Excellence Awards, and the Youth in Creative Arts Conference, have become pivotal in showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.
The awards committee praised Mr. Alhassan’s remarkable ability to use his platform and creativity to empower youth, promote women’s development, and drive social change in Northern Ghana’s tourism sector. Through these high-impact events, he has not only raised the profile of the region but has also provided opportunities for local talents and communities to thrive.
The prestigious award ceremony took place on Friday, 13th September 2024, at the luxurious Wuripe and Sons Royal Hotel (popularly known as Jirapa Dubai) in the Savannah Region. Mr. Alhassan’s recognition as the Digital Icon of the Year solidifies his position as a key figure in the Northern Ghana creative arts and tourism industry.
