The revered Vice President of the National House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, has officially confirmed his participation in the 7th Northern Excellence Awards (NExA 2025), where he will be honoured with the prestigious title of “Development-Oriented Chief of the Year.”

The event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, 5th July 2025, at the Global Dream Hotel in Tamale, is organized by the Celebrities Charity Development Foundation in partnership with MyNorthToday and Neesim TV. It is Northern Ghana’s premier awards platform dedicated to celebrating excellence in leadership, community development, innovation, and social impact.

Buipewura Jinapor is being recognised for his visionary traditional leadership, philanthropic influence, and far-reaching contributions to the socio-economic transformation of the Buipe Traditional Area and the Savannah Region at large. Under his leadership, Buipe has witnessed strategic progress in areas such as infrastructure, industrial development, youth empowerment, and peace-building.
Most notably, his active support and patronage of national campaigns such as the Anti-Drug Abuse Initiative and youth-focused development interventions have earned him national respect as a modern chief with a progressive vision rooted in culture and compassion.

The NExA 2025 ceremony will host traditional leaders, public officials, civil society actors, and entrepreneurs from across Ghana, with over 25 individuals and organisations expected to be honoured for their exceptional contributions to Northern Ghana’s development.
