Industry stakeholder, Nash Iddi, has reacted to the heated debate surrounding the ownership of the Northern Music Awards and the upcoming Ghana Northern Music Awards, offering a different perspective from those of Grandpapa and the organizers of the GNMA.

According to Nash Iddi, the two award schemes are legally distinct if both names have been accepted and registered by the Registrar General’s Department. He argued that once the department approves the registration of both entities, it signifies that they are recognized as separate businesses, hence any legal action would be pointless.

“‘Northern Music Awards’ is legally different from ‘Ghana Northern Music Awards’ if the Registrar General allowed both to be registered and entered to commence business. Going to court will be much ado about nothing — 100% waste of everyone’s time,” Nash Iddi stated, ending his post with a confident “drops mic” gesture. His comments add yet another twist to the ongoing intellectual property debate dominating conversations within the Northern entertainment industry.
