Tamale base radio presenter, Amidu Abdul Rahim, popularly known as DJ Bat has express his regrets over his lack of relevance in the entertainment circle.
The host of the Zaa TV showbiz plug, has been in the industry for over a decade now, and has remained one of the most hard working media practitioner, yet he’s not getting the necessary recognition he deserves.
As worry-some as he is, DJ Bat took time to his social media platform and make a post saying he sometimes felt like the industry do not celebrate him enough, which makes it difficult for him to sometimes believe in what he is doing.
“Some know it, some see it and some are yet to know more about what I does from Djing perspective, presentations and promotion of northern artist.”
He said to have discovered new talents and good projects of artists, bring it on table but all, nobody seems to care or acknowledge his efforts. “But over a decade on air now but nothing to show for. What is my crime?” He questioned.
Making referenced to his previous years in the industry and some of his good works, DJ Bat recalls that, last two years he was the first person to discover and interview Yung Shak, one of the brightest starlet now, and was the first to air his song with Fad lan titled Manje Lala.
“If you do not know of anybody at all, Maccasio is a typical example of artist he helps wholeheartedly and he has succeed but, Maccasio has never in his life acknowledged him, not financially, not even a single mention his name in any of his tracks like he does to others.
As if is not enough, Maccasio blocked me on his WhatsApp more than 5 times and I still hold him down as if am not hurt.
Also there exist a whole lots of artist and presenters he gave real opportunities to excell but all is on the blind side . Pretending to see the positives but quick to react to the negative” he sadly explained.
Dj Bat added that “I have never won an award from the north here not a single recognition, I do not get likes, I do not get the views and so on. Some came just recently but clogging over a million likes and comments but me none.”
He asked, could it be because he is a different tribe? If that is the case, Fancy Gadam, Dj Carlos and so on are also different tribe, but why are they making it. This things and many questions bother me a lot”. He added.
He highlighted that presenters gets gifts from big politicians and even some young rich guys help more of the industry people but as for him, he gets none.
“My heart is full of sorrow as I type this, sometimes I felt like quitting this job for good because I don’t know how and what to do to also get the blessings this guys get.” The Dj expressed.
