The newly elected SRC president of CK Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Mr. Micheal Awanah Atamakira, has been sworn in as the president to lead the students front in the University for this academic year.

Micheal Awanah, together with other elected officers of the SRC, were sworn in at the annual handing over ceremony, which took place in the NHAI auditorium of the University.

The level 400 Computer Science Student in the School of Computing and information Sciences, Micheal Awanah, defeated tight competition from several others in the presidential elections in February this year.

Delivering his acceptance speech, Micheal Awanah expressed gratitude to the Dean of students, and the student body and promised to work in the interest of students to raise the standard of the university.

He said the student body entrusted him with the office and he will ensure that he does not disappoint them.

“My humble students, we (the entire SRC executives) prior to the elections called you on phone, visited your hostels, visited your churches and even your homes soliciting for your support and votes. You bought into our policies and allowed us to lead you, and my major goal is to serve you to the best of my ability.”

He assured the university community that he will always put the welfare and interest of students as his topmost priority.

“Mr. Chairman, Jim Rohn once said “A good objective of ledership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better”. It is based on this statement that I am assuring the entire student populace today that I will always put their welfare and interest as my top most priority. My stewardship should be felt by the various students who allowed me to serve them.”

Micheal Awanah succeeds Ebenezer Opoku Mensah and will lead the students front of the University for the 2021/2022 academic year.

SPEECH BY AWANAH MICHAEL ATAMAKIRA (SRC PRESIDENT) AT THE SWEARING-IN CEREMONY OF THE 2ND SRC/NUGS EXECUTIVES OF CK TEDEM UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AND APPLIED SCIENCES ON Thursday, April 21, 2022.

Mr. Chairman, Dean of Students, Invited guest, colleague students, ladies and gentlemen, I begin with much appreciation to the most-high God for his protection and peace bestowed on us throughout the electoral processes.

Mr. Chairman, today I stand here with mixed feelings to have undoubtedly gotten the opportunity to serve the students as the 2nd SRC president of this great institution.

Mr. Chairman, today the students created history by electing the first ever Computer Science Student, the first ever School of Computing and Information Sciences Student and the first ever Public Relations Officer (PRO) in a previous SRC administration to be crowned the SRC president in the history of CK Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences. Truly, history will never forget this day.

My humble students, we (the entire SRC executives) called you on phone, visited your hostels, visited your churches and even your homes soliciting for your votes and support. You bought into our policies and gave us the opportunity to lead you, and my major goal is to serve you to the best of my ability.

Mr. Chairman, Jim Rohn once said “A good objective of ledership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better”. It is based on this statement that I am assuring the entire student populace today that I will always put their welfare and interest as my top most priority. My stewardship should be felt by the various students who gave me the opportunity to serve them.

Mr. Chairman, my executives and I took an oath some few minutes ago to be selfless and accountable to the student at every point in time, and this oath demands that the welfare of the student become our priority in every decision we make. I have established a trustworthy relationship with the students and therefore the AWANAH led SRC administration would be focused on creating a strong student front with the welfare of students as our top most priority.

Mr. Chairman, I wish to acknowledge the selfless work by the Dean of Students and the Interim Executives to project and protect the interest of students at all times. We say AYEKOO!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, the seed of CKT-UTAS has been sown already. We might not enjoy the shade and fruit of this very seed which will one day become a tree. But is our responsibility to water the seed for generations to enjoy the good shade and good fruits of this very tree. The challenges will be there, but we shall overcome. We will remain disciplined, we will l remain focused and collectively, we will create a better CKT-UTAS!

So Help Us God.
Long Live Ghana.
Long Live CK Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS).
Long Live The SRC.
God Bless Us All.
Thank You.
