The most sort for beauty pageant of northern Ghana has returned after four years. Miss Damba is a beauty pageant that was staged in 2017 on Sagani TV. The pageant had contestants from all three northern regions then and after about five weeks of performances and evictions, Miss Juliana from Busunu (now in Savannah region) emerged winner.
It got the endorsements of chiefs and prominent people across the north and had a lot of following on both TV and on social media. However, due to lack of sponsorship support, organizers of the event could not continue with the program until this year. Though truncated for four years, the event promises to be bigger and better this year. A brand brand new
car has been acquired by the organizers of the event as the grand prize for this year with a motorbike as the second prize and several other consolation prizes as well. The event is also scheduled to be hosted at Ganaa Hotel (one of the biggest and most beautiful hotels in Tamale) and will last for eight to nine weeks.
Forms are currently being sold at Sagani TV and Zaa Radio in Tamale, Dasuma Radio in Yendi, ABM Radio in Zabzugu and Bead FM in Bimbilla. Interested persons may also call 0207782424 to get the forms and participate. Miss Damba is a cultural beauty pageant that seeks to showcase the diverse culture of the people of the north and the Damba festival. Prominent chiefs including the overload of Dagbong have so far endorsed the event for this year which will be telecasted on Sagani TV and Might TV.
Mr. Abdul-Jalil Naabeli who is the CEO of MudHut Co Ltd (organizers of the event) and the Coordinator of Miss Damba encouraged young ladies to join the pageantry and shoot themselves to stardom. He further stated that Miss Damba presents a platform for them to unearth their hidden talent and to help embolden them to be able to compete with their peers across the world.
“I am particularly happy that the entertainment chief of N-yeb Tamale Dakpema who is in the person of Chief Adam Musah has fully come on board to adopt the project and help make it a success”, he said.
