Mr. Ibrahim Kessie, the CEO of Tamale-based Kesmi 107.1 FM, has been appointed as the Northern Sector Manager of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) by the Government of Ghana. His appointment marks another milestone in his career as an influential entrepreneur and media owner in the Northern Region.

Beyond Kesmi FM, Mr. Kessie is the CEO of Ultimate Group of Companies, which owns Morning Star International School, a reputable educational institution in the region. His leadership in media, education, and business has positioned him as a key figure in Northern Ghana’s development. His new role at MASLOC will see him oversee microfinance support for small and medium enterprises across the northern sector, helping to drive economic empowerment and financial inclusion.

In 2020, Mr. Kessie ventured into politics by contesting in the NDC Tamale North parliamentary primaries. Despite a strong campaign, he narrowly lost to Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini, who eventually retained his seat in Parliament. His political ambitions, coupled with his business acumen, highlight his commitment to both governance and economic progress.

His appointment to MASLOC is expected to bring new energy to the agency’s operations in Northern Ghana, leveraging his experience in media, business, and grassroots engagement. Many believe his leadership will improve access to financial support for entrepreneurs and small businesses, fostering growth and development in the region.
