Three months after his appointment as a Senior Officer at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), renowned music legend Mohammed Abdul Rashid, popularly known as Kawastone, has been assigned to the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO) for NADMO in the Northern Region.

In his new role, Kawastone will oversee public relations activities across the entire Northern Region, serving as the central communication link between the regional office and all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors. This means all programme directives, updates and official engagements from the various districts will be frequently channeled through his office.

This assignment highlights Kawastone’s growing influence beyond the creative arts and reflects the confidence reposed in his leadership, communication skills and commitment to public service. His transition from music into public administration continues to inspire many, particularly young creatives, to appreciate the value of education and professional development beyond celebrity status.

Kawastone’s advancement within NADMO further reinforces the belief that education and capacity building should be encouraged at all levels, regardless of one’s stature or background, and that excellence in one field can be successfully transferred into national service.

His journey stands as a powerful reminder that talent, discipline and education can work together to create meaningful impact both on stage and in society.
