Aspirant for the New Patriotic Party’s Northern Regional Youth Organizer position, Alhaji Abubakari Mohammed Naporo, has issued a strong condemnation of the violent scenes that marred the rerun of elections in 19 polling stations within the Ablekuma North Constituency.

In a statement released to the media, Alhaji Naporo described the chaos as a “well-calculated violent attack” allegedly orchestrated by known NDC-affiliated thugs, executed in full view of the Ghana Police Service. He expressed shock at the inability of law enforcement officers to intervene, resulting in the assault of some NPP leaders and supporters during the exercise.
“This doesn’t speak well of the democratic dispensation we live in,” he noted. “If this act is not checked and allowed to fester, it could damage Ghana’s reputation and our growing democratic credentials in Africa and beyond.“
Alhaji Naporo, who currently serves as the Youth Organizer for the Mion Constituency, emphasized that the incident highlights the urgent need to mobilize and revitalize the youth base of the NPP. He revealed that ahead of announcing his bid for the regional position, he consulted extensively with key stakeholders, including Alhaji Inusah, the Northern Regional Commander of the party’s Invisible Forces, and other youth group leaders.
He reiterated his unwavering commitment to youth development and party unity, pledging to collaborate with the Party’s flagbearer, the National Youth Organizer, all 16 regional youth organizers, the National Organizer, constituency youth leaders, and polling station executives to build a formidable youth front heading into the 2028 elections.

“We cannot afford to let the youth and members of our beloved party down. This is the time to reignite the spirit of unity, hope, and collaboration,” he stated. “I will work to ensure that all youth groups are given recognition and benefit from our party’s victory.”
Concluding his statement, Alhaji Naporo called on NPP members across the country to remain steadfast, urging them not to lose hope under the current NDC-led administration. He promised that the party’s youth will resist all forms of intimidation and lawlessness in defense of Ghana’s democratic values. “Long live Ghana! Long live the NPP!”, he declared.
