Nyab’ Issah Bandambiyo, a media practitioner and event moderator in the Eastern Corridor, mourns the sad decline in media value in the North.
In a very well presented essay and analysis, Nyab Issah Bandambiyo wrote below on his facebook timeline,
“The gradual loss of interest in Radio,Tv and Blogging is almost at it Ends… Radio and Tv is merely a name of formal glory as it’s now occupied by unprofessionals who only seek fame over ethics.
Irrelevant Trends have taken over at the expense of critical national and Society issues of interests for development and Change,Popularity and cheap labor is now the priority of some Media personalities as well as some Media outlets.
For the few who still practice on the the foundation on which media and journalism was build on, I commend you for choosing ethics over popularity and cheap labor.
To my fellow Media Guys in Blogging,Radio,Tv,Social Media and Media house, we have a big role to play for our motherland and we can be the change we preach if we change our priorities,it will have been a good experience to channel our attention on our current system and make it better one for us and our future. Media is powerful and in the wrong hands it can be more destructive than a nuclear weapon of mass destruction, eg (Rwandan Genocide). Use it well and you will inspire positive changes.. Make your choice while the Sun still Shine”.
