As the Special Guest of Honor, the Nantong Naa lauded the Ambariya Sunni Community for taking the lead in promoting peace. He described peace as the foundation of progress and development, cautioning against the escalating reports of weapon smuggling in the Northern Region. Stressing that politics is about choices and not conflict, he reminded attendees of Islamic teachings, which strictly prohibit violence and emphasize the severe spiritual consequences of taking a life unjustly.

Dr. Zainudeen passionately highlighted the devastating consequences of political violence, noting that the brunt of such conflicts is borne by ordinary citizens rather than political leaders. He urged the audience to value and uphold peace as a collective safeguard against destruction and stagnation. His message resonated with the core of the campaign, inspiring attendees to become peace ambassadors in their communities.

Dr. Iliasu Adam emphasized that peace should not be confined to election seasons but should be a daily way of life. He discouraged the spread and consumption of unverified information, warning against sensationalism, which often breeds unnecessary tension. “There is no news if nothing happens,” he stated, urging attendees to rise above provocations and remain calm in the face of disputes.

Dr. Tamimu underscored the critical role of justice and fairness in maintaining peace. Drawing from Islamic principles, he stressed that Allah’s creation thrives on justice and that abandoning fairness results in societal decay. His call for equity and accountability as guiding principles resonated deeply with attendees, encouraging them to be just in their dealings, especially during the elections.

Limam Abdul Salaam Ahmed eloquently reminded the audience that the essence of Islam is peace. He urged Muslims to embody and prioritize peaceful values as a reflection of their faith. His message served as a spiritual reminder of the responsibility every Muslim holds in fostering harmony in their communities.

The campaign also featured contributions from other key stakeholders, each addressing critical aspects of peacebuilding:

  • Mr. Fuseini Lilian (Christian Council Representative): Highlighted the importance of interfaith harmony in achieving lasting peace.
  • Mr. Ibrahim Dokurugu (Headmaster, Ambariya Sunni Community): Advocated for education as a powerful tool to foster understanding, tolerance, and unity.
  • Representative of the Peace Council: Emphasized the need for collaboration among various institutions, including the Electoral Commission and security agencies, to ensure peaceful elections.
