Popular Ghanaian rapper Medikal has taken to Twitter to express his frustrations with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), accusing the government of unjustly arresting and imprisoning him. According to his post, Medikal revealed that he was detained at the Ankaful Maximum Security Prison without any “tangible reason,” stating that the incident was allegedly carried out under directives from higher authorities.
In the tweet, the rapper shared that his legal team attempted to seek clarification and justice, only to be met with the response, “It’s an order from above.” This ordeal appears to have left Medikal disillusioned with the current administration, as he appealed to John Dramani Mahama, the new president elect, to bring about significant change.
Medikal also extended his plea to Mahama by referencing their personal connection through Mahama’s son, Sharaf, whom the rapper described as a “good friend.” He concluded his message by urging the incoming president to prioritize the welfare of the youth in Ghana, emphasizing the need for transformation and justice.
