Award-winning rapper and 69 music frontliner, Maccasio, has launched a scathing attack on Northern-based industry players, boldly declaring that there is no credible industry figure currently in the Northern music space.

In an interview with DJ Mudasir on Dagbon FM, Maccasio expressed deep disappointment in those he described as “so-called industry players,” accusing them of lacking the influence and capacity to elevate artists from the North to the national stage. “They can’t plug any artist into anything big in the country. All they know is to sit on talk shows and discredit the hard work of artists,” he lamented.

Maccasio, known for his consistency and dominance in the Northern music scene, didn’t hold back as he continued to question the credibility of these players. He argued that most of them are stagnant in the region, yet they feel entitled to criticize artists for not growing. “They forget that they themselves haven’t gone anywhere,” he fired.

Nonetheless, Maccasio’s statement has reignited a critical conversation about the role, impact, and relevance of industry players in Northern Ghana’s entertainment ecosystem.
