Tamale-based rap king Maccasio has fired back at veteran musician Abu Sadiq, following comments allegedly made by the legend on Tolon Radio, where he criticized the current generation of artists for making it difficult for others to comply due to their dramatic stage entries and creative event crafts.

In an interview with DJ Mudasir on Dagbon FM, Maccasio expressed his deep disappointment, stating that he least expected such discouraging remarks from a respected figure like Abu Sadiq.

This is the kind of energy that kills creativity,” Maccasio fumed. “Instead of appreciating us for elevating the industry with new ideas and creativity, they sit and complain as if innovation is a crime.”

The rapper emphasized that the younger generation is only trying to move the industry forward with modern showbiz practices, and urged older figures to show support rather than criticism.

Maccasio’s bold clapback has sparked heavy debates online about tradition vs. innovation in Northern music and the sometimes icy relationship between old guards and the new school.
