Ghanaian music icon, Maccasio (Sherif Abdul-Majeed), has opened up about a deeply emotional experience tied to the release of his latest track, “MANI.” In a heartfelt Facebook post, the rapper revealed that shortly after shooting the music video for the song on November 16, 2024, he was hit by a severe health crisis.
According to Maccasio, he developed serious stomach pains while on his way home from the video shoot and was rushed to the hospital, where he remained admitted for weeks. “I thought I was not gonna see the release of this particular song,” he wrote. Thankfully, with proper medical care and the grace of God, he was treated and later discharged. The artist used the moment to reflect on the importance of health, urging fans to “appreciate it whiles you can!”
Despite the scare, “MANI” has been met with tremendous support and love from fans. The official video has garnered over 13,000 views on YouTube and 600+ streams on AudioMack in just three days, further cementing Maccasio’s relevance and dominance in the Northern music scene.
