Tamale, Ghana – Hope has been restored for a determined young orphan, Rukaya from Bamvim Dohani, whose dream of attaining secondary education was nearly crushed by financial difficulties.
Having earned admission to Kumbungu Senior High School, Rukaya faced the heartbreaking reality of abandoning her education due to her inability to afford prospectus items, PTA levies, and other school expenses. With no financial support, she traveled to Ejura to live with her mother and engage in manual labour — a decision that symbolized her resignation from school life.
However, her story took a remarkable turn when Afa Nurudeen, upon hearing of her situation, reached out to the production team of “Dakulo Lahabali Kpana Saha,” a popular weekend political and social television program aired every Saturday.
Deeply moved by her story, the program’s host and team swiftly contacted Rukaya and invited her back to Tamale. She appeared live on the show alongside Afa Nurudeen, where her emotional story was shared with viewers across the region.
In an extraordinary display of compassion and community spirit, within just 10 minutes of the live broadcast, generous viewers and well-wishers raised GHC 3,500 to support Rukaya’s education.
The funds were immediately handed over to Afa Nurudeen to ensure all her educational needs were met. By the following Monday, all items on her prospectus were purchased, her PTA dues settled, and her admission fully completed. After covering all expenses, a balance of GHC 220 was given to Rukaya for her upkeep on campus.
Rukaya has since reported to Kumbungu Senior High School, filled with gratitude and renewed hope for a brighter future.
The Dakulo Lahabali Kpana Saha team extends heartfelt appreciation to all donors and viewers whose generosity made this possible. Your swift and selfless response stands as a testament to the power of community, compassion, and unity in transforming lives.
The public is encouraged to continue supporting Rukaya throughout her academic journey to ensure she completes successfully. Donors and well-wishers wishing to assist further may contact Rukaya at Kumbungu Senior High School or reach out to the Dakulo Lahabali Kpana Saha production team for proper coordination.
Once again, we say thank you to everyone who demonstrated love, empathy, and solidarity. Together, we are shaping futures and giving hope where it is most needed.
