Sad news has hit the Northern Drama & Film Makers Association (Nodrafilm) and the Northern movie industry as the current president of Nodrafilm, Mr. Abdulai Abdul-Jalil has stepped down as the president of Nodrafilm and resigned completely from acting.
This sad news was disclosed to hypemediagh.com few hours ago via a phone call from the President himself.
Speaking to Is Hassan Dablee, Mr. Jalil said his decision is as a results of his current condition.
Mr. Jalil has been on the sick bed for about a year now, resulting to his slowness in the industry and his absence even at the just ended Nodrafilm Movie Awards.
Through the phone call, Mr. Jalil said his situation has been very critical to an extent that he can’t even do any active activity by himself anymore, so he see it due necessary to resign and focused in his health.
“I have been very sick for a while now, and right now as I’m speaking, I can’t do any active activity on my own. My situation is very critical, so I have decided to resign as the Nodrafilm President and also from acting in general or anything that has to do with the film or movie industry, my life is more important. I want to focus on my health for now” he said to hypemediagh.com.
Mr. Jalil joined the movie industry about a decade ago, and blew into the limelight through a movie called “Garinsi”, where he played as part of the main characters of the movie.
He has produced so many great and popular movies including Garinsi, )mani, Wagra Kpa Taba etc. He is also a professional teacher.
Mr. Jalil served as the Nodrafilm Vice President during the reign of former President Alhassan Yushawu Jahanfo, and was elected as the President in 2019.
For his great works in the movie industry which brought Dagbon Cinema where people can sell and buy their favorite movies, and also the initiation of the first ever Northern Movie Awards, President Jalil was re-elected as the president for the second time in office, and his reign was supposed to end in the end of 2023 before this saddened step.
