In a surprising turn of events, Charger Limited, the headline sponsor of the Upper East Music Awards (UEMA), has officially announced its withdrawal from sponsoring the scheme for the upcoming edition. The announcement was made in a formal statement signed by the company’s CEO, expressing both congratulations to last year’s winners and a reflection on the future direction of the brand.
The statement began by applauding all artists who emerged victorious in the various categories of last year’s UEMA. “Your hard work, creativity, and resilience continue to uplift the music scene in the region, and we at Charger Limited celebrate your achievements,” the CEO stated.
The company had originally planned to hold a formal prize presentation ceremony, but due to scheduling constraints, the plans could not materialize. As a result, all winners and their teams are advised to contact the company’s representatives — Edward Anafo (Regional Manager), Azongo Albert (Regional Consultant), and Atanga Alex (Public Relations Officer) — to redeem their prizes.
After what was described as “careful reflection and broad consultation,” Charger Limited has decided to step down as the main sponsor of UEMA for this year, citing internal restructuring and strategic realignment. Despite this, the company extended best wishes to the event organizers and left the door open for possible future support.
Charger Limited reaffirmed its dedication to promoting talent in the Upper East Region and thanked stakeholders for their continued understanding and support.
