Inusah Arimiyaw, popularly known as Director Anas, has been honoured with the prestigious Best Reporter in Tourism and Culture award at the 2024 Northern Region edition of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards. The annual ceremony, which celebrates excellence in journalism, took place in Tamale on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Anas award was in recognition of his outstanding documentary titled “Potential Tourism Site in the North East Region of Ghana.” The documentary earned high praise from the Awards Committee for its exceptional quality, detailed storytelling, and impactful presentation of the region’s untapped tourism prospects. According to the citation presented to him, the piece “does a great job of highlighting the region’s potential and marketing it,” with visuals and narration capable of attracting both local and international tourists.

Representing Sagani TV, Anas stood out among an impressive list of nominees from major media houses including TV3, GHOne TV, CITI TV, Daily Graphic, Ghana News Agency, and Channel One TV. His win places Sagani TV once again in the spotlight for producing top-tier journalistic work that promotes culture and development within the Northern sector and beyond.

The awards ceremony, which marks the fifth edition of the GJA Northern Region Awards, was held under the theme: “Bridging the Rural–Urban Education Gap: The Role of the Media.” Dignitaries in attendance included Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Education, Professor Amin Alhassan, Director-General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Honourable Ali Adolf John, Northern Regional Minister, and Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association.

In a brief message shared after receiving the award, an elated Inusah Arimiyaw expressed his gratitude, saying:
“Alhamdulillah!!! We won Best Reporter of the Year in Tourism/Culture. North East Potential Tourism Sites documentary. Thanks GJA, Northern Region.”
His achievement adds to the growing recognition of journalists who use their platforms to promote culture, heritage, and tourism development—key pillars that contribute to regional growth.
