In a heated exchange following Alhaji Ahmed Adam’s critique of northern music, Fancy Gadam took another swipe at the legendary musician, accusing him of sampling and copying Indian music back in his day. Fancy boasted that, unlike the legend, he doesn’t rely on such practices, sparking a fierce debate about authenticity in the northern music industry.
Reacting to Fancy’s bold claims, popular Tamale presenter DJ Bat didn’t hold back. Taking to Facebook, he slammed the “Total Cheat” hitmaker, accusing him of hypocrisy. DJ Bat wrote, “So, an armed robber is accusing a thief of stealing?” He further suggested that Fancy Gadam himself frequently copies lyrics and beats, adding, “70% of your songs are stolen, even clear copy cuts.“
DJ Bat didn’t stop there, mocking Fancy’s success in Accra, saying that performing there doesn’t equate to northern music truly reaching the capital. He ended his post with a sharp jab, calling Fancy Gadam the “number one musical arm robber.” The exchange has sparked widespread reactions, with fans and industry players weighing in on the ongoing feud.
