Following the unfortunate demise of the Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Murtala, who passed away in the recent national tragedy involving a helicopter crash, Dr. Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahaman has announced his intention to contest the parliamentary seat for the constituency. As part of his commitment to education and community support, he has introduced a free service to help students access their 2025 BECE results.

The initiative allows all candidates under Tamale Central to check and print their results at no cost by visiting his office in Changli, located near Gbaale Yung Yard. Under the motto “Tamale Central Deserves Better: Empowering the Future”, Dr. Abdul Rashid aims to continue the legacy of late Hon. Murtala by prioritizing youth empowerment and education.

Dr. Abdul Rashid brings with him a wealth of experience in leadership and service. He is a former Chairman of the NDC in China, a former lecturer, and also a member of the 64 Bench in Tamale. Beyond politics, he has contributed to job creation in the constituency by establishing a pure water business that currently employs more than 40 people. His latest initiative highlights his focus on practical support for young people, especially in education, as he formally steps into the political scene with aspirations to represent Tamale Central in Parliament.
