Born and raised in a small community, ZabZugu in the eastern corridor of the Northern region, Cyclist, Zakaria Nbahiyam has voiced out his passion and ambition of involving and participating in events and activities that projects the good name and image of the Northern Ghana.

Zakaria Nbahiyam who is based in Ashaiman in Accra for hustling purpose, rode a bicycle from Ashaiman in Accra to Tamale, just to support and encourage Chef Jah Bless Faila for her attempt to break Guinness World Records for the longest cooking marathon.

Zakaria took off this journey to Tamale at 10am on Sunday, 7th January, 2024 in Accra, and reached Tamale on Wednesday 10th of January, 2024.

Speaking to HYPE TV, Joy News, GHOne TV, TV3, GBC and other media present, Zakaria Nbahiyam said he did this just for the love of the North and also to help in his own way to promote Chef Faila’s cooking marathon to go more international.

Faila’s cooking marathon wasn’t a news to anyone again, but I thought that riding from Accra to Tamale would have give it more big headlines internationally, and adds more seriousness to it, such that it will scare more people away never to attempt to break this record”. He said.

When asked about if that was all his reason for going through this scary and risk journey, Zakaria added that he is always much concern on involving in activities that projects the good image and name of the north, and Faila’s cooking marathon and what he himself did were great activities that has changed a whole lot of perceptions about the north and its people.

I want to be a change maker and I love to do it through activities that changes the negative perception people have about the North and its people. I will encourage my colleagues, the youth to always engage themselves in activities that projects the good image of the North, just like Faila’s and my personal self did”.
