In a videos shared on his social media handles, Grandpapa, the CEO of Northern Music Awards and a close friend to Criss Waddle, has expressed his disappointment over the lack of support shown towards Faila’s cooking marathon in Tamale, teaching us a valuable lesson on who to support and who not to support within the creative industry in Tamale.

He emphasized that the creative industry can no longer extend a helping hand to those who fail to reciprocate the support given them by northerners. He specifically called out celebrities from the south who did not rally behind Faila, despite the north willingness to support them whenever they face difficulties.

It’s disheartening to witness the blatant disregard for Faila’s cooking marathon in Tamale by the southern celebrities,” Grandpapa lamented. “It hurts that even the ladies who claim to be supportive of their fellow women in the industry did not turn up to support such a great initiative.”

“We have learnt our lessons and henceforth we will be supportive to anyone that regards us” he added.

Faila’s cooking marathon which lasted from January 1 to January 10 2024 aimed to put Ghana on the map by breaking and setting a new Guinness world record. The event was meant to not only showcase the talent and culinary skills of the chef but also provide a platform for philanthropic works hence she fed hundreds of the less privilege on the streets on Tamale.
