In a remarkable move aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and empowering local farmers, the Member of Parliament for the Walewale Constituency, Hon. KB Mahama, supported 100 dry season farmers with brand new water pumping machines. The initiative, implemented under his Agriculture Support Initiative, seeks to enhance irrigation farming and promote food security within the constituency.

The beneficiaries, carefully selected from communities known for vegetable farming, were chosen based on their active engagement in dry season agriculture. Each farmer made a counterpart contribution toward the acquisition of the machines, a strategic measure put in place to ensure commitment and prevent misuse.

Hon. Kabiru urged the farmers to put the machines to good use and ensure they are regularly maintained to prolong their lifespan. He emphasized that the intervention is not just about providing equipment but about empowering farmers to expand their production capacity and improve their livelihoods.

He further revealed that her office will closely monitor the progress of the initiative, evaluate its impact, and work towards expanding it to benefit more farmers across the constituency. The gesture has been widely commended by community members and agricultural stakeholders, describing it as a timely intervention that will contribute significantly to improving yields and income levels among smallholder farmers in the area.
