In a major shakeup within the Northern dance industry, the Northern Best Dancers (NBD) has officially split. The group, which was led by Odi Coins, now consists of a new lineup of dancers, as the old members have departed to form a brand-new crew named the Step Up Squad (SUS).
The seven former members of NBD, including prominent dancers like R Bwoy, Greatest The Boy, The Boy Kidi, King Tortise, Dance Kiddo, Revenge Buster, and Soco, decided to part ways to pursue their collective vision. R Bwoy, now the leader of SUS, explained that the split was not borne out of conflict but rather the desire to start something new and better aligned with their artistic goals.
“Though the was an issue, but we respect what NBD stands for and all we achieved under Odi Coins, but it was time to create something fresh that reflects our vision and ambition,” R Bwoy reveals to Hypemediagh.com.
The newly-formed Step Up Squad (SUS) has already positioned itself as a team to watch. With their motto, “Move with Strength, Perform with Fire,” the squad is ready to take their craft to the next level and redefine dance entertainment in Northern Ghana.
The squad is based in Tamale and is open for performances, collaborations, and bookings.

Meanwhile, Odi Coins, the founder and leader of NBD, has retained ownership of the group, bringing in a fresh lineup of dancers. Under his leadership, the new NBD is expected to continue building on its reputation with a restructured team and vision for the future.
The split marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both groups, with NBD and SUS striving to elevate dance in the region. Fans are encouraged to support both crews as they embark on these new paths.
