A moment of great honor unfolded today at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi when Naa Gbewaa, the revered custodian of Dagbon tradition, presented a cash gift of ₵10,000 to celebrated comedian Zaachi. This gesture came in appreciation of Zaachi’s remarkable sacrifice and determination in completing the “Walk to the Throne” from Tamale to Yendi in support of the 2025 Damba Festival.
The two-day journey, which kicked off on 6th September and concluded on 7th September, was not merely a physical trek but a cultural statement of unity, resilience, and pride. Zaachi, together with his team, successfully walked from Tamale to the palace, drawing admiration from citizens across Dagbon and beyond.

By rewarding Zaachi with ₵10,000, Naa Gbewaa not only acknowledged his commitment but also underscored the importance of celebrating and preserving Dagbon’s cultural heritage. The gift stands as both a royal blessing and an encouragement for more creative initiatives that honor tradition while inspiring the youth.
