In a no-nonsense tone on DJ Krouch’s ‘Gbewaa Enter10ment Chat Show,’ Robicon dismantle the long-held dream of Northern musicians at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). He stated emphatically: “Tamale musicians do not have the talent to sustain them at the VGMA.”

According to him, while some artists from the North have made appearances and even picked awards, the sad reality is that none of them have displayed the consistency, originality, or technical ability to remain competitive on Ghana’s biggest music stage. He stressed that VGMA is not about temporary hype or fan-driven influence but about musical excellence that can endure year after year.

This declaration landed like a bomb in the entertainment space. Fancy Gadam’s historic New Artiste of the Year win and Maccasio’s national collaborations were brushed aside as weak flashes of relevance. Robicon argued that such milestones were not sustained and, therefore, prove his point about lack of talent depth. His submission paints a brutal picture—that Tamale’s music industry is still light-years away from matching the creative powerhouses of Accra and Kumasi.
