Tamale’s multiple award-winning poet, Ambitious The Poet, has officially announced his highly anticipated project titled State of the Nation Address (SONA) EP, set to tackle some of the country’s most pressing issues. With the upcoming elections looming, the EP promises to promote peace before, during, and after the elections.
In a social media post, Ambitious outlined his mission: “The SONA EP is aimed at addressing issues of political deception, democratic governance, the state of our economy, and challenging the status quo of our political scene.” He emphasized that the EP isn’t just poetry but a bold call to inspire a change in mindset about politics while promoting transparency and accountability.
The 6-track EP, which is not without its controversies, dives deep into Ghana’s political landscape with poems designed to “hold our leaders accountable” without fear of intimidation. Ambitious described the project as a platform to “speak out” on behalf of a nation that must “rise again,” alluding to the turbulent waters of governance the country finds itself in.
Days after his initial announcement, Ambitious shared the tracklist, teasing fans with intriguing titles like The Eight set to drop on October 5, promising that it will leave no political stone unturned. How effective this poetic protest will be remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, Ambitious The Poet is ready to ruffle some feathers.
