Celebrated investigative journalist, author, and public intellectual, Manasseh Azure Awuni, is set to be honoured with the “Most Influential Media Personality of the Decade” award at the upcoming Northern Excellence Awards (NExA 2025), scheduled to take place on Saturday, 5th July 2025, at the Global Dream Hotel in Tamale.
The award is in recognition of his exceptional contributions to journalism, media integrity, and national accountability over the past ten years, as well as his inspirational influence on young communicators and changemakers across Northern Ghana and beyond.
A native of Bongo in the Upper East Region, Manasseh Azure has risen to become one of Ghana’s most respected voices in investigative journalism, noted for his fearless pursuit of truth, in-depth reportage, and impact-driven storytelling. His award-winning work — including uncovering corruption in public institutions and amplifying the voices of the vulnerable — has shaped national policy conversations and won him both local and international acclaim.

Powered by the Celebrities Charity Development Foundation, in partnership with MyNorthToday and Neesim TV, NExA 2025, will honour over 40 individuals and institutions for outstanding contributions to regional and national development. The event will attract leaders from traditional, political, academic, and civic spaces, as well as development partners and media stakeholders.
