The much-anticipated “Walk to the Throne” has been triumphantly completed as stand-up comedian Zaachi, together with Team Zaachi, arrived at the historic Gbewaa Palace in Yendi on Sunday, 7th September 2025. The two-day cultural journey, which began in Tamale on 6th September, was organized as part of the celebrations leading to this year’s Damba Festival.
The symbolic walk captured the attention of many across the region, as Zaachi’s initiative blended entertainment with tradition, reaffirming the significance of the Damba Festival in uniting the people of Dagbon. Starting off at 6:30 am in Tamale, the team braved the distance with resilience and cultural pride until they reached the palace grounds.
Upon their arrival, the Gbewaa Palace welcomed Zaachi and his team warmly, acknowledging the journey as a noble sacrifice in honor of Dagbon’s heritage. The “Walk to the Throne” will go down as a memorable event, demonstrating how cultural preservation and creative expression can work together in celebrating one of the most important festivals of the north.
