The King of the Mamprugu Kingdom, Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga, on Tuesday presented a white male sheep to the organizers of The Taste Of Afrika during a courtesy visit to his palace in Nalerigu. The visit formed part of this year’s “Palace Experience”, a unique cultural activity under the 3rd edition of the Cultural Oneness Festival.

The Palace Experience is designed to give guests from the diaspora a rare opportunity to visit revered royal palaces across northern Ghana, learn directly from custodians of tradition, witness cultural expressions, and deepen their connection to Ghanaian heritage.
This year’s delegation featured high-profile guests including His Royal Majesty Nabongo Peter Mumia II, King of the Wanga Kingdom in Kenya, and William Tony Rogers, President and CEO of Urbanology Systems LLC, New York. The group was led by Tengol K. Kplemani, Co-Founder and CEO of The Taste Of Afrika and the Cultural Oneness Festival.

Welcoming the team, Naa Sheriga expressed deep appreciation for their mission to promote unity, heritage and global cultural exchange. In a gesture symbolizing purity, peace, and royal blessing, the King presented a white sheep to the organizers — a traditional honour reserved for highly valued visitors.
The moment added profound meaning to this year’s festival, reinforcing its commitment to building bridges between Ghanaian communities and the wider African diaspora. The organizers described the gesture as both humbling and inspiring, noting that the Mamprugu Kingdom continues to play a significant role in shaping the narrative of cultural identity and African unity.
