Ghanaian music group, Choggu Boys has released their album titled “Heroes Of Change” under Black E Records.
The album is anthology of songs that reflects on the lives of 3 great grand Heroes of Northern Ghana, Choggu to be precise, the area the artists grew from.
These 3 heroes are Dr. David Abdullai Choggu, Pastor Dokurugu & Chief Mohammed Hafiz Choggu (the first entertainment chief of Tamale).
From the speech of their Manager, Mr Chenti Wuni Abdul Fataw, the Heroes Of Change album is initiated to celebrate all Heroes while they are still alive but not when they are gone.
He highlighted that, these great heroes have done more than enough for the north and it’s worth emulating by the future generations to come, just for a better tomorrow, therefore the need for his artists (Choggu Boys) to rewrite their history through music.
Black Echo (leader of the group) on the other hand begged and called on stakeholders to see to it that statues of these 3 heroes most especially Dr David Abdullai Choggu is build at the roundabout of the area.
Key Dignitaries who were also present to graced this album launch include Choggu Tuu Naa, Hajia Alima Saeed Sagito (Wife of the Regional minister), Alhaji Tamakulo, Hajia Mariama Dokurugu, Basic Needs Ghana, HYPE MEDIA GH, HYPE TV, Chief Dakpem Diema Naa, Honourable Alhassan Suhuyini (Tamale North MP).
Speaking to the invited guests, Honourable Alhassan Suhuyini promised to take it upon himself to make sure that the statue of Dr David Abdullai Choggu is build at the Choggu roundabout.
He also urge young upcoming artists in the North to try doing music that will sell and project the culture of the North like Choggu Boys are doing.
He donated GHc1, 000 cash to Choggu Boys as his support.
Choggu Boys thrilled the audience with marvelous performance from the 15 track album.
