Northern Ghana’s Dancehall music promises to be interesting in the coming years following the emergence of another sensational dancehall king, Acxionboi born Richard Abagaki Nabaredam.

Acxionboi has been crowned the Best Reggae/Dancehall musician at the just-ended Happy Man Bitters – Upper East Music Awards 2022.

Happy Man Bitters – Upper East Music Awards is a brainchild of One Luv Entertainment, and sponsored by Happy Man Bitters. It’s an initiation incepted to acknowledge and award creative personalities who are making outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the creative arts industry in the region.

This year’s event, which happened to be the 4th edition was held on December 30, 2022, at the Gnat Hall in the Upper East Regional capital, Bolgatanga.

In attendance were notable personalities and public figures in the likes of Dr. Emmanuel Bortey Berkeley, the President and founder of Charger Limited who are the producers of Happy Man Beverages and the headline sponsor for the awards scheme, TV3 Ghana Most Beautiful 2020 winner Naa Dede Botchwey among others.

Aside from the “Overall Artiste Of The Year”, another aspect that has always been like a war front from the beginning is the Reggae/Dancehall category but ended up in one notable musician’s hand.

Acxionboi has always been the man that leverages the importance of social media to his advantage with constant display of his works, thanks to his hyperactive nature and his controversiality.

This year at the Happy Man Bitters – Upper East Music Awards is no exception despite competition from 6 other Dancehall musicians.

He came up against Acidic Ranking, Jahbone MP, Ras Trusty, Ragga Star, Lyrical Vybes, and Rolex B but managed to beat them in the decision of the judges and came out on top as the winner

Congratulations to him.
