Especially the grassroots coaches who wake up every day to train young players, without receiving the money or recognition they deserve.
Coaches spend hours on the training ground to teach,correct and push players when they are tired.They encourage them when they are frustrated.They see mistakes in your game that you do not even notice.
They help players understand football, discipline, teamwork and responsibilities and sometimes, they are doing all of this while dealing with their own problems as coaches.
A coach can have family responsibilities waiting at home. Sometimes financial pressure and personal problems.
He can also be tired or can have opportunities he had to sacrifice.He can be working without proper equipment, facilities or enough support.Yet he still shows up because there are players waiting for him.
There are young footballers depending on his knowledge because there are dreams he is helping to build.
Not every coach will have the best facilities and not every coach will get recognition for the players he helped develop. Some may spend years helping young footballers while struggling to build their own coaching careers.
And sometimes players only remember their coaches when they make them angry and complain when coaches correct them and complain when they bench them.
They even complain when training is difficult. But they sometimes forget the work coaches are putting in behind the scenes.Players, let us appreciate our coaches.
The coach who stayed after training to teach you,the coach who travelled with you,the coach who encouraged you after a bad performance,the coach who corrected you because he wanted you to improve,the coach who believed in you when you were still developing,and the coach who may not have everything, but still gives you what he has.
