The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) has given organizers of Miss Damba a brand new car to be used as the winner’s prize for the pageantry this year. The car which comes with a five year comprehensive insurance is worth over one hundred thousand Ghana Cedis.
Presenting the vehicle to the organizers on Tuesday July 12, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MASLOC, Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakaria expressed her delight in the partnership. She intimated that she followed the second edition which was last year and was convinced that the program will empower young ladies especially in the north whilst selling the culture of northern Ghana in particular and the country at large.
Hajia Abibata confessed that the program has a lot of following and was certain that it will help market the products of MASLOC and also help appeal to defaulters to pay. Speaking in Dagbani, she admonished young ladies across the north to take advantage of the Miss Damba platform and enjoy the many benefits that come with it.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the team, the Coordinator of Miss Damba who is also the host of My Northern Achiever on Sagani TV thanked the Board of MASLOC for approving the grant of the vehicle. He also thanked the CEO and her team for their support especially in convincing the board to approve the vehicle grant. “We are very grateful to MASLOC and we assure MASLOC that we shall give them the publicity that is needed so that at the end of the day we would have mutual benefits”. He said.
Miss Damba is an annual event which started in 2017. It is a beauty pageant that concentrates on the culture of the people of the north. The winner of last year got a KIA Morning car and a Hajj ticket courtesy the organizers and Alhaji Inusah Dagomba Boy respectively. The program is scheduled to start in early August and will be broadcast on Zaa TV.
