Former NPP Parliamentary Candidate aspirant for Yendi who is now Chief Executive Officer of Microfinance and Small Loans Center (MASLOC), Hajia Abibata Shani Mahama Zakariah has donated some items to media houses in the Northern Region.
The items donated included, bags of sugar, boxes of tea and cartons of milk, among other things. According to the philanthropic politician, the kind gesture is to aid the staff of the various media houses in the successful completion of the Holy month of Ramadan.
In making the donation, Hajia Abibata praised the Northern media for its positive contributions to the region’s development. Adding that, the media has helped to change people’s perceptions of the North.
While interacting with some journalists in Tamale, Hajia Habibata stated that the media deserves special recognition for their ongoing service to Dagbon and the country as a whole.
The CEO promised to always come to the aid of the Northern media whenever possible. The media practitioners thanked the politician for her kind gesture and assured her of their support in ensuring the success of her position as CEO of MASLOC.
A Brief Biography
Hajia Abibata Shani Mahama Zakariah is a Ghanaian politician and business woman. She was born in Yendi, the capital town of Dagbon traditional area in the Northern Region of Ghana.
She is a daughter of Alhaji Shani Mahama, who served as member of parliament for the area and Deputy Agric Minister under K. A. Busia-led government.
Under the first term of Nana Akufo-Addo government, Hajia Abibata was appointed as the Deputy CEO of MASLOC. She was appointed the CEO of the same organization in 2021 after the 2020 general elections.
In 2020, Hajia Abibata ran for the Yendi constituency parliamentary candidate of NPP, but was narrowly defeated by Ali Mahama Faruk. She is one of the Northern Region’s most youthful and vibrant politicians, serving in the Nana Addo-Bawumia-led government.
