Karela United have added to their squad rebuild with the signing of midfielder Abdul Basit Issah, who joins from Division One League side Golden Warriors ahead of the new season.
The move was announced by the club on their official Facebook page on Saturday morning, with Karela describing Basit as a player who brings energy, combativeness, and pressing to the middle of the park. It is the latest in a string of signings for the club this week, following the arrivals of Wisdom Jonas Manyina, Edmund Afurapoe, and Frank Ackom.
Basit joins from Golden Warriors, who currently play in Zone Three of the Access Bank Division One League. The move represents a step up in level for the midfielder, from Ghana’s second tier to the Ghana Premier League, where Karela will be looking to build a stronger squad for the upcoming campaign.
Karela’s post welcomed Basit to the “Pride and Passion,” with the club clearly excited about what he can add in midfield. With four new players now confirmed inside a matter of days, it is clear Karela United are working hard in this transfer window to put together a competitive squad before the season begins.
