The North East Music Awards (NEMA) is an annual awards ceremony that honor and celebrate indigenous artists from the North East Region who have worked harder throughout the year under review.
An initiative of North East Entertainment Union in partnership with A.Square Multimedia, the awards is based on the need to promote and award artists, engineers and labels who have worked outstandingly in the year.

At the opening forum yesterday at the Walewale Assembly Hall, the organizers of the scheme said the awards as usual is going to create a platform that will ultimately help attract relevant attention and appreciate investors into the entertainment industry in the North East Region.

Mr. Abdul Wahab Jaama, member of the organization committee said, this 4th edition of the scheme comes with 21 categories, which will be judged after nominations with a public vote holding a percentage of 60% and the board holding 40%.

Mr. Kamara, a member also from the committee announced that nominations will officially be made opened on the 1st of January to 15th of January, 2023. Artist can file their works for nominations within the given space.

The occasion witnessed a massive attendance with very important guests present including the Entertainment Chief of the North East Region, who was made the Chairman of the opening forum, Mr. Paul (Apprise Music), Director Anas (CEO of A.Square Multimedia), Is Hassan Dablee (HYPE TV), The North East Region Music Union Board and all top artists from the region.
