The prestigious Northern Excellence Awards (NExA), recognizing outstanding contributions to Northern Ghana’s socio-economic development, will expand its reach to the United States with the launch of NExA USA on October 4th, 2024, in Jersey City.

As part of the 2024 Damba fest celebrations, the launch will coincide with the coronation of Hajia Teefa Npanko Fuseini as Massachusetts Magajie.

According to Abdul-Latif Alhassan, Executive Director of Celebrities Charity Development Foundation and founder of NExA, the expansion aims to recognize and honor proud sons and daughters from the diaspora contributing to Northern Ghana’s development.

Hajia Teefa Npanko Fuseini, Co-founder of NExA, announced that the NExA2024 Special Recognition Awards will be presented to distinguished northern personalities based in America, including Tunglana Mohammed Umar (CEO of Zaa Multimedia and North American Dagbambi Naa) and veteran musician Sirina Issah.

Social media is abuzz with excitement over the news, which will take place at the Masonic Lodge in Jersey City. The event will feature various activities, including the coronation of notable personalities from Northern Ghana based in the US.

As Massachusetts Magajie, Hajia Teefa Npanko Fuseini pledged to continue empowering women from Northern Ghana and beyond through innovative events like NExA USA, Prestigious Northern Women Awards USA, and Queen of the North Ghana USA.
