Ghanaian dancer and Percussionist Bukom Mama was selected among other dignitaries together with sporting and media personalities in a short ceremony at the kotoka international Airport welcoming the World Cup trophy.
The ceremony under the auspice of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) welcomed the World Cup trophy as it toured specific nations prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup “Qatar”, and in attendance the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
Bukom Mama displayed a beautiful dance performance expressing emotions of excitement & taking delight in movements as he exhibits traditional dance in a grand style whiles unfurling the Ghanaian national flag during the ceremony.
His display added colour to the event. He was awarded with applauds with a standing ovation for a spectacular showmanship.
The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola kicked off in May in Dubai and has traveled to 19 countries and territories, including Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Pakistan, Lebanon, and more. The second phase of the tour kicked off on 19 August in Zurich, Switzerland and will stop in all FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifying nations, including Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia, and Morocco.
Over the course of 2022, the Original FIFA World Cup Trophy will travel to 51 countries and territories, bringing Coca-Cola and FIFA one step closer to visiting all FIFA’s 211 Members across the world by 2030.
