Renowned Ghanaian music talent, Sapashini, has received a significant traditional honour during his visit to the greater Accra’s King of Mampurugu ahead of his concert in Madina on last Saturday.

Sapashini, celebrated as one of the greatest musical talents emerging from the Northern Region, paid a courtesy call on the King as part of his preparations for the event. During the visit, the King conferred on him a prestigious chieftaincy title — “Baansi Kanbona-Bia,” which translates to Warrior of All Artistes.

The coronation was carried out in accordance with the customs of Mampurugu. Immediately after the title was bestowed, a ceremonial gunshot was fired, symbolizing victory, strength, and divine endorsement for Sapashini’s journey. This ritual, deeply rooted in tradition, is reserved for individuals recognized as brave, impactful, and destined for greatness.

The honour holds even deeper meaning considering that the name “Sapashini” itself means Warrior in the local dialect. With this new title, Sapashini now carries an added layer of cultural pride and spiritual significance, as he steps onto stage not only as a musician but as a traditionally recognized warrior and leader among artistes.
