The Movement for Youth Development (MYD) in collaboration with most of the prominent Northern based poetry acts has organized a Peace Concert dubbed “The Gumbiliya Yili Poetry Concert for Peace” aimed to encourage a peaceful election ahead of December 7.

The said Concert held yesterday November 21, 2020 was characterized with thrilling poetry, musical, dramatical and choral performances including peace messages from various Youth Groups who serve as peace ambassadors.

The programme started at exactly 8:40pm with a Peace Drama by Dahinshelli Drama Group before making way for the first of poetry performance on the Night at exactly 9:20pm and ended 10:10.

As the programme hit 🔥 an exciting and arousing stage after the first set of thrilling and mind blowing performances from the poets, a comedian was invited on the break to keep the exciting mood uplifted as the poets prepare for their second session.

Low be hold, the most exciting, thrilling, amazing and mind-blowing second set of performances from the Spoken word poetry acts was on the main agenda of the Night which is to preach peace. They (The Spoken word artists) all climbed the stage in style and dressed in smocks and accompanied by a gong-gong bitter. This idea according to them, was to paint a picture of where they represent (Dagbon) and to show people how united they ought to be. Among several renowned Spoken word acts acts billed on the Night include Coolest Dude, Ambitious The poet, Abdel The poet, Gifted Tima, Hurri Inn, Issmuk The Gigantic, Docile Rush, Tunteeya The poet, Sam The poet, Depoet Hawaani, Saad Wumpini, Lansah Lawrence and Hakeem The Genius.

Speaking in a closing remarks by the leader of MYD and the brain of this concert, Lansah Lawrence indicates how excited and amazed he (Mr. Lansah) was after the show had recorded a massive turnout. He thanked all the audience for their patience and staying glued to their seats to the end despite starting a bit late than planned. He also noted that the performances put up by all the poetry acts was one of a kind, one he described as massive and historic and hence, praised all of them for their wonderful delivery and education on peace. He also thanked the sponsors of the programme including MYD, GhanaTrace, Hype Media GH, Rass TV, Sagani TV and everyone who supported in diverse ways to wake the programme a success. To crown it all, he further emphasized the need for peace before, during and after the December 7 elections.

The programme was then climaxed with energetic performances from Salamu Jini, Fresh D and The Reality hit maker, Dagbon Saani.
