Veteran Ghanaian musician, Sheriff Gharle name has appeared on the entertainment scene after decades of his retirement from music and any form of entertainment or music related activities.

The legendary Sheriff Gharle who left a mark and a whole lot of great memorable memories in the hearts of music lovers with his descending inspirational, motivational and transformational lyrics in his songs has left one of the top Northern based Ghanaian Islamic Scholar starving for his kind of music after his retirement decade and half years ago.

In his Ramadan preaching on the topic of how parents should be extra careful of how they handle orphans, under the theme “Enduring the test of Allah with patience is a key element in attaining Allah’s Blessings” for his 2023 Tafseer, Al – Shaykh Iliyas Umar Imam, leader and director of Hablullah Islamic Institute warned guardians on how they shall be bitterly punished on the day of judgement by Allah if they failed to cater for orphans under their watch perfectly as they cherished and cater for their own kids.

The renowned international preacher, Al – Shaykh Iliyas Umar Imam made reference to “Nandan-Bia“, a 2000’s released song of Sheriff Gharle.
Shaykh Iliyas Umar Imam applauded the musician and said he nearly sheared tears the very first day he listened to the song. He said, though some part of music is cursed in Islam, music or songs that teaches and preaches good manners to the society are allowed in Islam.

He said even the beloved Holy prophet, Muhammad (S.A.W) was having an artiste who sings or recites in a form of music to praised and hailed him. Even though Shaykh Iliyas Umar Imam said the former musician who now teaches at the University For Development Studies (UDS) was once his student, but he respect him for that one particular record in his career.
